Being connected with the world is critical, especially in the area of Science, Technology and Innovation. Aware of this, the Minas Gerais State Agency for Research and Development - FAPEMIG - invests in the internationalization of science produced in the State of Minas Gerais through partnerships with companies and research institutions from several countries.

The agreements aim to promote the exchange of researchers, fund jointly developed projects and provide researchers from the State of Minas Gerais with an international experience in some of the most important centres of knowledge generation in the world.

At FAPEMIG, partnerships are managed by the International Scientific Office, a department created especially for this purpose.  The opportunities are periodically posted on the Foundation's website ( www.fapemig.br). Among the partner countries are:

International Scientific Initiation Program

Created in 2009, the Programme aims to stimulate exchanges by providing an international experience to graduate students of educational institutions of Minas Gerais. Brazilian candidates must submit a proposal to be developed with institutions in other countries. The program also allows research development opportunities for foreign candidates in Minas Gerais, after signing an agreement with FAPEMIG.
